VAN VORST HOUSE is a fully restored, century-old brick-row townhouse on a tree-lined street situated in the nexus of New York City and the Historic Downtown District of Jersey City. Located in a serene residential neighborhood nested between the prominent Van Vorst Park and Hamilton Park, guests can leisurely enjoy nearby cafés, bars and restaurants or conveniently access Manhattan within minutes via PATH†.

Fully stocked with pots, pans, baking trays, cutting knife and board, bowls, dishes, glassware, utensils, kettle, can openers, measuring spoons and cups, salt and pepper, cooking oil, and condiments. Complimentary Cuisinart 2-in-1 coffee machine; free K-pods and tea are provided.

- 2 spacious bedrooms (2 beds total*): 1 king bed and 1 queen bed; Each bed comes with a Zinus 10-inch comfy mattress and two types of pillows (firm and soft) that comfortably sleep up to two (2) adults; clean bed linens and pillows are provided. Full-length mirror, nightstand with lamps, luggage rack, walk-in closet for master bedroom, iron and iron board, and outlet extension cords are available for use.
- Bathroom includes a full rainfall shower head and tub with complimentary spa-quality sustainable body wash, shampoo / conditioner by Public Goods. Towels and full-size Conair hair dryer is also provided. Complimentary toilet paper is included.
- Kids and Family-friendly: multi-purpose highchair (Evenflo 4-in-1 Eat & Grow Convertible High Chair, bowls, plates, utensils, and cups.
- Guests may control the thermostat and heat (hot water baseboard) in the unit.

Other Things to Note
🪜1) PRIVATE ENTRANCE & ACCESSIBILITY
The apartment has a private garden entryway directly from the sidewalk through the front patio underneath the building stoop (stairs). Inside the two-level duplex apartment, the living area is on the 1st floor and both bedrooms are on the 2nd floor (one flight of interior stairs up from the garden level). There is NO elevator in the apartment. Guests booking are expected to be comfortable with the interior stairs that are typical in brownstone-style and brick-row homes.
🧳2) LUGGAGE
Guests are genuinely encouraged to bring standard carry-on luggage or duffel bags as larger suitcases may not easily fit through the doors / stairwells. Luggage racks are provided during the stay.
🚗3) PARKING
• Paid garage parking options are available within minutes for ~$25-30 per day (e.g., 95 Columbus / 66 Columbus / 160 Morgan / 201 Morgan)
• On-site parking is not available; street parking is limited and mainly for residents (requires city parking permit)
• City parking rules are strictly enforced by the City; guests are encouraged to not drive
• Public transit is recommended for guests traveling between NYC / JC
🔥4) HEAT
Temperature is controlled by a thermostat within the apartment. The heating system is hot water baseboard (HWBB). When turned on, particularly at higher temperatures over time, there may occasionally be water or piping sounds from the building water heater (likely due to thermal expansion and contractions). If preferred, some guests may prefer to turn on the heat before going to bed and not overnight. This is not uncommon for HWBB systems in general or for modernized brick-row / brownstone-style homes from over a century old.

👥6) REGISTERED AND PERMITTED GUESTS ONLY
In accordance with City of Jersey City rules and regulations, the guest booking the property MUST be over the age of 21 and is considered the "Primary Transient Occupant". The Primary Transient Occupant must be present and part of the group or party of person(s) occupying the apartment during the term of the booking. No one under the age of 18 shall be permitted on the premises of the apartment, unit, building or property UNLESS this person is accompanied by this person's legal guardian at all times. No outside visitors / guests at any time. Only registered and permitted guests are allowed up to the maximum limit of 4 person(s). No exceptions.
